Set of 4 porcelain flat plates design from the art deco period 1930 signed la maitrise gl. La maitrise is the name given to the applied arts workshops at galeries lafayette. In the 1920s, all the department stores in paris had their own art workshop: le printemps (primavera), le louvre (studium louvre), le bon marché (pomone) and galeries lafayette called on decorator maurice dufrene to direct this workshop which was then very active, both for its participation in all the major salons and exhibitions and for having offered opportunities to numerous artists including jean and jacques adnet, henri delcourt, paul malet, pol chambost.
