Gien slush cheese tray

The famous gien earthenware factory has been known for 200 years for its exceptional pieces, for its tableware for “large” tables. But in the 70s, in order not to sink, it was necessary to face competition, italian and portuguese in particular, and to adapt to current tastes, to the taste of the greatest number of people, and thus offer more accessible and affordable pieces. Zeitgeist. Like this charming slip cheese tray with a relief decoration representing leaves on wicker, in autumn colors, caramel for the enameling and copper for the handle. This tray shows some signs of its sixty years: slight crack on the enamel, a small chip on the edge extended under the tray by a small crack, nothing that puts the tray in danger, and the patina of time on the copper handle. It measures 30.5 cm in diameter, approximately 16 cm in height.
