Professional furniture: la poste flap file cabinet, in oak, from the 1930s/40s. La poste had for a time equipped its offices with these large cardboard boxes with flaps and we find on the top of the right side, the serial number of ours: 1 04034. It is therefore a real professional piece of furniture. It opens with 16 flaps on two columns, ingeniously articulated around metal plugs. So, we open the flap completely and slide it over the top of the niche to keep it closed. To close it, we pull it towards us and let it fall back on its own - it then snaps back into place with a very satisfying little "clack". Each facade is decorated with its period metal label holder as well as a small brass handle (some are of a different model but they are all old and were probably changed by la poste at the time). At the bottom, the solid solid oak plinths match those of the cornice. The sides, made of solid oak planks, offer a superb patina with very aesthetic veins. The back and top are original plywood. It has been completely cleaned and is in excellent general condition. The niches are still suitable for our modern files and if some people divert this furniture (especially into a wardrobe for clothes), they can still be used perfectly to classify their papers. They are, moreover, very shallow, therefore taking up limited space. Height: 190 cm. Width: 90 cm. Depth: 32 cm.
