Description
Covered vegetable and leafy silver metal display. Hallmarks and signature boulenger, goldsmith. State of use, superficial scratches on the flat. Period: late nineteenth, early twentieth. Flat diameter 33 cm; vegetable diameter 22.5 cm, total height about 12 cm; weight 6, 100 kg. Goldsmith's hallmark: "boulenger" and a crescent; master goldsmith: adolphe boulenger. This hallmark was inculcated on june 23, 1876 and struck out on april 9, 1899. The company was founded in paris in 1810 by mr. Boulenger-hautin, active until 1938, specializing in tableware. In 1864 it was taken over by the nephew of the founder, adolphe boulenger and became "a.boulenger & cie" located at 4 rue du vert bois in paris. His son, charles boulenger, followed the death of his father in 1898 and the company became "ch. Boulenger & cie".
