Description
Travel trunk from the 1870s - maison louis vuitton - succursale emile rabec. Rare emile rabec transport trunk for louis vuitton, produced in the second half of the 19th century, in red and beige striped canvas. Its stripes testify to its period of manufacture, in the 1870s. This is one of the first models of travel trunks made by the famous house. We find on the trunk beautiful brass elements and wooden slats fixed by brass buttons. A label is visible inside indicating the manufacturer emile rabec and the address of the branch entrusted to emile rabec by louis vuitton at number 65 avenue des champs-elysées. The name of the owner of the trunk is engraved on a brass plaque, countess a. Branicka. This original trunk is in good condition for its age. It has defects, traces of wear and small parts are missing. The locks are made of solid brass.
