Description
“shells n° 1” cup, model created on december 8, 1924, molded-pressed and opalescent white glass. The coquilles service, a famous and widely distributed creation from lalique, is made up of five plates and five bowls of varying sizes. The use of opalescent glass is particularly judicious for this model, because its texture wonderfully evokes the pearly appearance of certain shells, thus creating a perfect harmony between the pattern and the material. Signature: “r. Lalique, france” and no. 3200 engraved on the base of the cup. Dimensions: - height: 8.50 cm; - diameter: 21 cm; references: - “r. Lalique, catalog raisonne of glass work”, felix marcilhac, les editions de l'amateur, 2011, page 748, no. 3200. - the aquatic world of lalique, musée lalique, wingen-sur -moder, from 05/16/2014 to 11/11/2014.
