Description
Our enamelled plate "auxiliary recipe post" dates from the 50s. Its format is 70 cm X 35 cm. The ministry of posts and telegraphs dates from 1879, under the third republic. It is the result of the merger of two administrations: the directorate of postal operations and the directorate of telegraph lines. To these two administrations united in a single ministry in 1879, was added in 1889, that of the telephone, whose monopoly was taken over by the state. Endowed with an additional budget in 1923, this administration again constituted an autonomous ministerial department from 1930, under the name of ministry of posts, telegraphs and telephones. The latter took the name of ministry of posts and telecommunications in 1959. The auxiliary distribution (urban or rural) was created in 1906 as an extension of the competences of the auxiliary recipe. This postal agency had the same characteristics. In addition, there was the task of delivering mail, either directly by the manager or by a locally recruited non-staff auxiliary postman.
