Description
Music trophy chest of drawers by louis aubry (1741-1814) received master in 1774, louis xv-xvi transition period, rosewood, satin, amaranth, green and blackened wood fillets, gilded bronzes, gray sainte-anne des pyrénées marble, attributed to louis aubry. Received master in 1774 louis aubry will create our chest of drawers in the pure transition style in which he combines the richness of the marquetry and the sobriety of the bronze ornamentation. Rectangular in shape with a slight central projection at the front and rear, it opens on the front with two long drawers with support rails and three belt drawers. In the center appears a music trophy surrounded by a plant crown. Bouquets of naturalistic flowers in greek-style green-tinted sycamore frames are inlaid on the sides. The three drawers are punctuated with quartefeuilles. The side panels are decorated with antique-style flower vases. The canted uprights are extended by four arched legs ending in gilded bronze shoes for the front. It is topped with gray ste anne des pyrénées marble.
