Leo wiart bookcase cabinet - 1940s. in oak

Very beautiful glazed school cupboard or bookcase signed leo wiart (lille). This company, founded in 1900, only closed its doors in the 1980s. It equipped our schools and administrations for decades. This cabinet dates from the 1940s and was used in a school in the paris region. It was bought by its last owner upon his retirement, while the national education system was renewing its furniture. Particularly interesting for its optimal size (high but shallow), it is made of oak and oak veneer (on the sides) and opens with two glass doors. Note that we have 3 windows per door and not one large window with trompe l'oeil strips. This denotes the manufacturing quality as well as the bottom and top which are made of solid pine (therefore stronger than usual plywood). Moreover, it has hardly moved despite its use as professional furniture and still closes very well. The keyhole, the key and the lock work (the door on the left locks with a hook and the one on the right locks it with the lock). Inside, the three wooden boards are on racks (therefore adjustable as desired). They were painted in an old, slightly faded gray with a beautiful effect, as were the bottom and top. We notice the beautiful molded solid oak cornice, the luminous patina of the wood as well as the overall slender look of the furniture. Some signs of wear on the interior walls, a few small scratches on two or three windows but it is solid, stable and in excellent general condition. H: 195 cm. D: 32 cm (at the cornice, only 30 on the rest of the cabinet). L: 104cm.
