Brown monochrome talking plate, humorist theme. "horse riding" from Sarreguemines UG, late 19th century

The 19th century saw the emergence of a number of so-called talking earthenware plates. This includes a decor captioned on the theme of slightly sarcastic humor. Antique monochrome brown plate with a border decorated with floral frieze. Given its scratch-free condition, it was surely intended for ornamental purposes in a dresser, as a collector's item, rather than used as dessert tableware. According to the sarreguemines signature, this plate was manufactured between 1895 and 1900 (information from the infofaience site). Impeccable condition, no cracks, no chips, no scratches, just a slightly stained background, but it's its great age that speaks and there's nothing we can do about it 🤗✨ width 20 cm.
