Old artisanal fork in monoxyl wood of hackberry

Magnificent old monoxyl fork, that is to say made in a single piece of wood. Witness of a craft almost disappeared, it took almost 10 years for its manufacture if we believe the information on the manufacturing methods of the conservatoire de la fourche de sauve in the gard. Made of light wood, very smooth, soft to the touch, hackberry, it is more than fifty years old, and is even more likely close to a hundred years. There is a slight hollow where the peasant put his hand when he used it. At the place from which the three teeth leave, we notice a marking (in several copies) made with the help of punches: the letters cb, perhaps the initials of the craftsman or more likely of the owner. Perfect as a decorative object, placed against a wall or in an umbrella holder, to give a natural touch to your interior, it will certainly arouse wonder and questions! You can hang one or two hats in the entrance or necklaces or ties in a room. It is in very good condition, no break or crack, just a perforation through the handle, probably the sign that it has already been used in decoration, fixed to the wall. And a hole (tendril. Not sure...) which I treated by acquired consciousness by injection of white vinegar, and obviously various marks and small spots that testify to its age and the use that has been made of it. It measures 162 cm in length, the trident is 23 cm wide, it weighs about 800g (which is extremely light for a fork!!).
