Incredible 19th century drawing representing a mater dolorosa holding in her hands christ's crown of thorns made in graphite and pastel. Superb work. The details of the drawing are magnificent and the “mater dolorosa” is breathtakingly beautiful! A very beautiful old piece. condition the set is in very good vintage condition. The frame has a few unimportant stains. The photos are part of the description. dimensions total dimensions: 71 X 58.5 X 1.7 cm dimensions without frame: 61 X 48.5 cm mater dolorosa expression which comes from the catholic church and which literally means: “the painful mother”, that is to say “the mother of pain.” the mater dolorosa is the mother of jesus sharing the sufferings of her son at the foot of the cross.
