Poul Kjaerholm PK22 lounge chair in cream leather for Fritz Hansen

A poul kjaerholm pk22 lounge chair in polished, brushed steel and cream leather for fritz hansen. There are two virtually identical chairs available. The price shown is per chair. Originally designed in 1956 the pk22 stands out as one of kjaerholm’s most lauded and recognised designs. The frame is constructed from bent steel bar and has a simple elegance that originates from his graduation project, the ‘element’ chair. These designs, and others produced by him are collectively known as ‘the kjærholm collection’, and represented designs developed by kjaerholm from 1951 to 1967 - and from 1982, two years after his death, they were licensed to fritz hansen where the pk22 is still produced to this day. This particular example was probably produced in the 1990s and benefit from the fritz hansen stamp and label as shown. It is in very good original condition. The frame and leather only shows signs of minimal use with a few small marks here and there and some slight stretching of the leather in the seat as one would expect – there are no holes, tears or major marks. All of this is shown on the accompanying photographs. The chairs are surprisingly comfortable as they have a webbing support structure spanning the frames under the leather cover in both the seat and back. Naturally they would work well as lounge chairs in a domestic setting but could also work as office reception, or executive office chairs. This chair can be purchased individually via this listing here – however, there are two chairs available (as shown in the last few photographs) and they are a matched pair being virtually identical in condition and colour.
