Self-portrait of the painter renée prinz (1883-1973) in watercolor. Work from the mid-20th century. Artist recognized for her meuse landscapes and portraits. After 1947, she became a member of the atelier des artistes mosans, a namur movement, notably with albert dandoy. Watercolor on very beautifully crafted paper, with light gouache highlights. The severe face is from a low angle and focuses on reading the news. Dull yet soft watercolor colors. It inspires a certain wisdom in the face of a mature and aging age. She seems serene. With frame 58x50 cm without frame 39x32 cm book under frame with glass. Gold gilded frame.
