Looking for a coffee table that is both robust, elegant and original. The ceramists of Vallauris created it for you! We all know the village of a hundred potters and its sometimes extravagant ceramics, but did you know that it was Suzanne Ramié, founder of the Madoura workshop from which this table comes, and a certain Picasso, who awakened a village that had been in decline for years 30 by transforming culinary pottery and its purely utilitarian function into artistic ceramics. If Picasso will choose Madoura as the exclusive publisher of its ceramics, many other artists will make this exceptional workshop shine, like Chagall, Matisse, or Capron. This table, produced during the 60s/70s, the golden age of the workshop, constitutes a perfect illustration of the diversity of its production, mixing materials and styles. We love the pattern of the ceramic, which features a harlequin holding his mask in one hand and a dove in the other, a symbol of freedom in Madoura's creations, and the richness of its enamels, which play as much with colors as textures. of the earth. This table will appeal to fans of modernist furniture, with its pure lines and fine oak slats highlighted by a black lacquered metal structure. Practical and aesthetic, the magazine rack will allow you to showcase some beautiful books. Slender and low in height, it is a table that will fit anywhere and will be perfectly suited to contemporary living rooms with seats close to the floor. The table has survived the years perfectly thanks to its high manufacturing quality. The ceramic plate is intact except for a small enamel break at the edge near the dove. Its contours are naturally irregular. The oak is in very good condition, with only slight discoloration on one of the slats. The metal is nicely patinated and shows some signs of wear such as rubbing and scratches on the black paint.
