Pierre-joseph redouté (1759-1840) was both a designer and botanist. It is undoubtedly thanks to this dual skill that he was the favorite illustrator of the works of the most famous naturalists. He also had the nickname "the raphael of flowers". The model we offer is taken from one of his botanical plates. It represents the centfeuille cristata rose whose flower buds have the particularity of being covered with frizzy greenery reminiscent of curly parsley. The finesse, the quality of the details of the flower, the colors, are truly enchanting. The lithograph was produced by the lithographic printer michel langlois. The framing is beautifully crafted. The gold frame, the relief framing strips and the mat with a gold reminder border highlight the lithograph perfectly. This 60s setting will bring a naturalistic touch full of history to a bohemian or classic decor. The whole thing is in very good condition with some discreet traces of use. Height: 45.5 cm width: 35.5 cm depth: 1.7 cm.
