1970's glazed pottery hanging ashtray in the shape of an owl. Hanging ashtrays were popular in america in the 70's for outdoor parties, also serving as a decoration. Being suspended, often they were broken, making them hard to find today. This smaller version has a good quality glaze in a deep blue and has a pearlescent finish which catches the light. It could also be used as a planter for small succulents, bird feeder or a pen holder using the cigarette slots. Well preserved, it is free of cracks or chips. The painted eyeballs have eroded a little over time on one side only and could be retouched with paint. *please message for delivery options for countries not listed.
