Very rare duo of flat plates, 24 cm in diameter in fine english earthenware from the brown westhead moore & co factory. Dated from the end of the 19th century, these 2 plates are in impeccable condition, some micro-signs of time passed but you would think that they remained locked up all this time to arrive to us today as if they had just been manufactured! Stamped on the back by the factory, they are also marked: m chanut rue tronchet in paris. This charming duo of plates with a blue victorian parakeet pattern made by the earthenware company bwm & co (brown westhead moore) in north staffordshire and dating from the 1870s. The plate has been decorated with a dark blue transfer depicting two parakeets perched on an ecru blue background. It is part of the canova pattern collection designed by pierre mallet which combines the new aesthetic and japanese influences of the 19th century, with a freer and more naturalistic design as well as the english love for nature. The underside bears the manufacturer's mark and pattern. The plate will make a great addition to your birding decor or simply for the love of beautiful tableware.
