Superb terrestrial globe or luminous world map, drawn up by the geographer j.forest*, 17 rue de buci in paris, scale at 1: 50, 000, 000. The base is made of wood, art deco period around 1930. The globe is made of glass on which the card is glued. The electricity is in good condition and perfectly functional. In a good state of conservation, there are no accidents on the globe or traces of restoration. There are some traces and yellowing, only minimal signs of wear (see all photos). The map remains beautiful and uniform in its patina. The globe is signed j. Forest (1865-?) who is a french geographer and cartographer. In 1886, he founded his publishing house of maps and plans, world maps, globes, terrestrial and celestial spheres, paintings and wall maps for teaching at 17-19, rue de buci in paris and lived at 1, place du 13 octobre in bagneux. Suppliers to schools since 1889 and approved by the ministry of public instruction, it has also offered a lighter globe in its catalogue. Appointed foreign trade counsellor of france in 1912, whose work he regularly followed, he was reappointed in this function in 1922. Diameter: 23 cm / foot 18.5 cm. Depth: 23 cm. Height: 27 cm.
