Description
Fifties rotary dial telephone, bakelite design telephone, collector's item, designed by heemaf for philips, the netherlands, 1950s. This early variant of the heemaf type 1955 was designed by gerard kiljan, graphic and industrial designer, pioneer of new objectivity and the related new typography. Related to bauhaus, this movement is characterized by simple lines and shapes in which aesthetics are subordinate to functionality. The heemaf type 1955 is therefore truly a design telephone and a striking appearance in the telephone world. Because of the latter, this device is often called the batman phone or batphone abroad. This philips version was also made by heemaf, but was sold and supplied by philips to private parties and exported all over the world. Dimensions: lh 26x20x12cm. Weight: 2.215kg.
