Saint renan earthenware plate made by emile rocher, emblematic of his work. In very nice condition, with very light brands of use. In february 1953, emile rocher went to the côte d'azur to meet the painters and ceramicists of provence. Cannes, nice, saint-paul-de-vence, vallauris are his places of inspiration. There he also met françois andré, director of the cane casino, who received the young artist. Then he returned to brittany, bought a ceramic oven with all his savings to get into the fire arts. The 1950s saw the birth of an artistic and creative school in which emile rocher was actively involved. Birds and fish on a red background, tahitian, scenes of sailors, illustrate ceramic dishes and tables. The first successes came: a commission for the president of the republic rené coty, then the national navy.
