Very beautiful original etching by eugène gauguet (1872-1943) Colorful etching of the early 20th century. View of bretons during a basket market. It is not signed but it was accompanied by a small note on the artist that I will attach when sending. Good general condition (note a slight beginning of folding at the top): see descriptive photos. Dimensions: 39 cm X 29.6 cm (15.35" X 11.65") → ideal for being framed to dimensions 30 cm X 40 cm (11.81" X 15.74"). * info: eugène gauguet was born in quimper on february 6, 1872 in a military family; he began his studies at the lycée la tour d'auvergne in quimper where his gifts in drawing and painting are revealed. In 1890 he preempts the call and enlists for 3 years in the 116th ri of vannes (morbihan) which he leaves with the rank of sergeant. His contract completed he decided to "go up" to paris where he managed to enroll in the fine arts. He became a cartoonist (under the pseudonym gog) and collaborated with l'assiette au beurre, pêle-mêle, la vie parisienne, l'almanac vermot, le rire, le sourire.
