Galo Rooster statuette from Barcelos Portugal

This very beautiful rooster, barcelos galo, emblem of portugal, considered a good luck charm, is also the typical souvenir that people bring back in their suitcases. Sometimes in ceramic, wood, metal, it is still available today in all its forms, key rings, magnets, statuettes, tablecloths... This one is in aluminum, hand painted then varnished, with magnificent bright patterns and colors. It probably dates from the 70s or 80s. It is made of solid aluminum therefore non-deformable, heavy and therefore very stable on its base. It has a hole in its back, deep enough, perhaps to serve as a candle holder. In any case, it was this orifice that allowed me to understand that it was aluminum! It is in good condition but shows some rare signs of its age: small and rare gaps in the paint (base, edge of the tail). It measures 10 cm in height, 7 cm in width, 4 cm in depth.
