JH701 chair by Hans J. Wegner for Johannes Hansen 1965

Created by Danish design master Hans J. Wegner, the JH701 chair is one of his currently rarest pieces. Here we have a first edition published from 1965 by Johannes Hansen, in excellent condition. The patina of the cognac leather is just perfect, as are the stainless steel structure and the solid oak backrest. For the record, this is the first so-called “light armchair” model inspired by the JH518 model created by Hans J. Wegner for his personal home in Jaegersborg, combining wood and steel. The assembly of the backrest is made from 4 main pieces of wood, in this case oak, assembled by wenge pieces, thus creating a design unique to this model for a high standard finish! This chair was purchased in the 60s/70s in the Loeser boutique in Germany, specializing in high-end design. Dimensions: 62x41x68 Seat height 43
