Description
Very rare suite of Baumann chairs (stamped) from the very late 50s - a model that had to be manufactured on a single "season" without having been catalogued. It is a variant of the no. 730 (whose standard was also very little produced 1958-1962 ca) with back and seat shape trimmed as on no. 720 g. Designs that are inspired at the time by polish architects wanda genga and marian sigmund (chair a587), including a another firm, luterma, baumann's estonian competitor, was inspired at the same time for a model that was quite similar but more "mastoc" (so-called "banana" chairs) and more widely produced thereafter. The frame is clean, reminiscent of the silhouette of a painter's easel; the sections are "round", curved wood for the back, wood turned at the front of conical shape placed in compass. The seat is connected to the rear footing by pulls and a small wooden arch that is technical as it is aesthetic. The seat is contoured, thicker at the back than at the front. Ergonomic. Back and seated trimmed, faux leather vinyl "ostrich" and cherry red. Very good vintage condition of the lot in its find juice, maintained; common trademarks. Height 82 cm - seat 39 X 40 cm - seat height 47 cm.
