Description
Period: ca. 1910-1930. A high-quality servant dish with removable glass containers. The five cupcake-shaped containers are placed around a central pot (for dipping sauce) that is higher and with scalloped edges; they are all made of thick glass which could also be crystal. Removable containers are placed in a round tray with a raised border and a basket-like handle that has been decorated with rococo-style shell patterns and fleurs-de-lis; this is silver metal. Under the tray there is a 'wiskemann' hallmark, a swiss cross and '20', which corresponds to the amount of grams of pure silver that is used. This brussels goldsmith's house was active between 1870 and 1970. The name wiskemann was famous all over the world with its peak between the two world wars, and specialized in the production of silver tableware for the hotel and restaurant sector. They are renowned for their high quality products. State: Good. Minor signs of use and oxidation. The glass containers are in perfect condition. Dimensions: see photo.
