Bamboo and wicker armchair by Janine Abraham & Jan Dirk Rol 1958

Very rare bamboo and wicker chair designed in 1956 by the dutch - french couple janine abraham and dirk jan rol. The illustrious couple won several prices, including the gold medal at the expo in brussels in 1958 for this particular chair. (see last photo) very few were made, and a set of these chairs with a matching coffee table has been commissioned (recommended by jean royere, who did the interior design) by shah pahlavi of iran in 1958 for his garden in baghdad. In excellent condition.
