Golden multi layered pendant light by Tage Sund for Toplamper. Denmark 1970s

A medium sized multi layered pendant light in brushed aluminum. It consists of four circular disks of various size and a perforated top cup housing the light bulb socket. The traditional danish style completely hides the direct glare from the lightbulb sideways and creates a decorative glow as the light from the discs reflects onto each other. The white inside lacquer of the shade also provides a smooth wide shine downwards over a table. Diameter: 27 cm, height: 20 cm. Good vintage condition with only very few signs of age. Standard e27 light bulb socket. "toplamper" was started by tage sund who was first a salesman in lighting starting in 1957. He then went into partnership with lamp manufacturer mejlstrøm in 1964 and formed the company ms-belysning, mejlstrøm og sund. When mejlstrøm bought out ms-belysning in 1975, tage sund started his own company called toplamper. The factory was located in the copenhagen suburp of hvidovre and at its peak, had 80 employees.
