Lot of 3 oils, the largest on canvas, the 2 smallest on hardboard. Theme of venice, lido. Provenance: artist's studio background. Gaston luciano faraoni was born in the 1930s in florence. His course: trained in academic painting, luciano faraoni was quickly influenced by the italian impressionist known as the macchiaioli ("tachist") pictorial movement. His work: he spent many years traveling the paths of tuscany meeting the landscapes and artists of this region: san gimignano, massa-carrara, forte des marmi. He is inspired by the landscape, whose bucolic atmosphere he exalts in a style of living realism. His way of applying colors completely imitates natural textures. Some canvases have great luminosity and a pastel appearance to render light shades and contrasts of light and shadow very accurately. Faraoni's brushwork is lively and suggestive, following the shapes of trees and houses accentuating the varied textures of the surface. Little by little, thus brushed, all the magic of the landscape emerges.
