Tripod stool

Pretty cowherd stool of the early twentieth century. This purely handcrafted stool, also called a milking stool, was used in the countryside so that the farmer could sit at the right height to milk the cow manually. With its characteristic half-moon shape, it is of course assembled without hardware, the 3 legs coming to fit into the seat, inclined so that the three balance the whole whole. It sports a beautiful brown hue, which has patinated over time to give a magnificent effect. The legs are just turned, and have two moldings in the lower part, proof that the craftsman wanted to combine beauty and utility. In very good condition, solid and stable, this stool will be perfect to usefully decorate a child's room, or to sit in a corner, supporting a lamp or a vase. Size: Height: 31 cm. Width: 34 cm.
