Antique tricycle, French toy with horse carved in wood and metal

Beautiful antique wooden tricycle handmade in france with metal wheels and gears and in very good condition. The tricycle is dated 1880 and is a very charming piece, a nostalgic object. It must have been an order for a very young child, about 2 years old, something unusual because, as a rule, since the rear wheels of other similar ones are much larger, this small detail makes it special and rare. The body of the tricycle is a beautiful wooden horse, it is complete and in good condition, with some restorations of paint and wax for better conservation. The horse is attached to the mechanisms of the tricycle formed by metal bars, pedals and wheel axles, the rims of the wheels are made of wood. The frame is leather with floral patterns and the surface of the chair upholstered for better comfort. The horse's features are well distinguished, such as eyes, veins, musculature and the tail is made of mane or natural horsehair. Although its use is rather decorative or collectible, it could quite be used by a small child since it works perfectly. Measurements: Height 57cm. Height 49cm. Bottom 28cm.
