Lacquered wooden jewelry box/case with bird decoration. China, Japan?

Burgundy lacquered wooden box decorated with a golden bird resting on a branch. The decor is light relief. Nice keyhole but no key. Interior in very good condition with signature.china, japan. Restorations (rounded corners at the back glued) and a few tears at the edge (see photos) hence my low price. Dimensions: 19 X 16 X 6.5 cm. Good capacity. Beautiful box, very decorative and charming with its rounded corners. Don't hesitate to ask me any questions or request more photos.
