Ancient African caryatid seat of Congo

Ancient African caryatid seat from the Congo with a very beautiful shiny brown patina. 20th century stool collected in the DRC in the 1980s. Superb representation of a kneeling woman holding above her head a cup serving as a seat or support to place an object on it. Very beautiful details of the scarifications on the woman's body and her hair on her back! Before serving as a seat, this sculpture already represents a very beautiful ethnic decorative object sought after by collectors and interior decorators.
