This very pretty handcrafted ceramic pitcher with an original shape but above all a very beautiful ecru and green enameling, will attract attention, that's for sure! Its shape, more precisely that of its pinched spout, and its colored enamelling suggest that it is artisanal provençal pottery, but as this pitcher does not bear any mark or signature, I cannot determine a more precise origin. It is enameled on the outside and on the inner rim of the neck, and varnished in the same places and even a little lower in the pitcher, the interior has been left in raw terracotta. It is well proportioned and rather heavy, and therefore very stable. I would date it between the 50s and 70s but without certainty. It is in good general condition, no cracks, but does not hide some traces of use or origin: a small original scratch on the enameling, slight chips on the upper rim, one of which is a little more visible ( see photo) and a mark under the high flared rim (see photo, you cannot see it when the pitcher is placed on a piece of furniture) which could look like a glued chip or it is an original defect, I cannot confirm anything. It measures 16 cm in height, 16.5 cm in width from beak to handle, and approximately 12 cm in diameter at the level of the belly. It weighs almost 1 kg.
