Art Deco bedside table, green marble and walnut burl, Circa 30's

Luxurious art deco bedside table with green marble top, circa 30. The structure is made of wood with walnut veneer on the structure (panels and note the back). The drawer front and compartment door have a burl walnut finish. The top of the piece features a stunning Italian Verde Alpi Saint Denis marble, veined in green, black and white. The interior of the lower compartment has a white marble finish. The drawer and lower compartment open and close correctly and have their original handle in walnut burr and chrome plating typical of the period. There is an additional storage compartment in the middle. The piece of furniture comes from a private order for a Parisian family and was sold to the previous owner in the early 1960s. The piece has all the attributes of the period. The rich production furniture was sold in catalogs by department stores , furniture houses in large cities and certain semi-industrial cabinetmaking workshops such as those in the Faubourg Saint-Antoine. The structure remains classic but its decor is adorned with quality materials, in veneer (unlike the standard furniture often in solid walnut). The piece is in very good original and vintage condition, with some very slight marks and signs on the overall structure, inside the compartments and the drawer as well as on the green and white marble (see photos). A very small wear mark on the right corner of the green marble (see photo next to the 1 cent coin for perspective.) as well as slightly faded color and patina from age and time. Note: the 2 marbles and the wooden shelf in the central compartment are not attached to the piece. Drawer: l: 32.5 cm x d: 32.5 cm x h: 6.5 cm, central compartment: l 39 cm x d: 36 cm X h: 20 cm.
