Very rare prisunic shopping basket... The prisunic chain of stores, born at the end of 1931, was able, from the end of the 1950s, to democratize quality contemporary furniture and clothing, with a slogan that has become famous: "beauty at the price of ugly ". A pioneer in its mail order sales formula, in april 1968 the brand launched the first catalog of staged furniture, lighting, tableware and textiles. Each catalog is entrusted to a designer who surrounds himself with creators. Terence conran, who founded habitat in london in 1964, designed the first collection. Despite this successful promotion of a new art of everyday living, the last catalog appeared in spring summer 1976 and the brand was bought in 1997 by monoprix, which perpetuates this tradition and continues collaborations with renowned designers, graphic artists, photographers or stylists and other illustrators among the most creative of their time.
