This stocking design consists of a round brass base decorated on the neck with a quality cast gilt bronze acanthus leaf decoration. The acanthus leaf, as in this design, has been used throughout history as an architectural element. Being a perennial acanthus is a symbol of longevity. The base is weighted and stable. There is green felt underneath to protect the furniture underneath. Rising from the round base, the main column simulates giant crystal beads. It features a sequence of alternating faceted round crystal balls with decorative brass tapered rings leading to the new brass socket. It's inside a polished brass metal lid. The lamp holder has 2 brass screw rings to hold the lampshade in place. Each lamp contains 1 small standard screw bulb (e14) up to 40 watts. Currently, they are equipped and photographed with 25 watt candle clear bulbs. These are included in the price. Each lamp is finished with a new cream fabric shade. These old lamps are in very good condition. The original antique patina has been preserved, adding character and depth. The frames are sound. The crystal parts are in very good condition, with no chips or cracks. The metal surfaces are overall in very good condition for their age. The original lacquer is present on the brass, with minor surface marks and rubbing consistent with age and wear. The 2 lampshades are new and in very good condition.
