Chinese box in red and black lacquered cinnabar, 19th century

Beautiful little lacquered box with red and black cinnabar forming a peony decoration. Cinnabar lacquer is an asian technique that comes from the cutting and superimposition of different layers of colored lacquer. Very long and rigorous work explaining its great finesse.
