Exquisite work of sublimated religious sensitivity which comes from the entourage of the brilliant neapolitan painter luca giordano, probably the great composer of southern italian painting at the end of the 17th century, whose models were exported throughout the catholic world. We have included three works directly attributed to the master, and which present a great sympathy with the one we offer for sale. The painting reproduces saint francis of assisi, perhaps saint anthony of padua, as can be deduced from the gentle gesture and the capuchin habit, in meditation and prayer.
