Oil on mounted paper representing a peasant woman in traditional clothing. Part of the flemish primitive movement (17th/18th century) but its author remains unknown and its dating imprecise. The frame presents an ornamental style of rocaille which appeared later and was therefore added. The inscription on the back of the frame is probably the work of former owners to specify the date of the work presented (this one or another). It would be appropriate to carry out a more in-depth expertise to determine whether it dates from 1648. If in doubt, the first estimate (auctie n°acf372119) is carried out on the basis of a work from the 18th century. Regardless, a work which through its history inspires respect!
