Pair of vintage metal and wood bedside tables, circa 50's/60's

Pair of bedside tables, vintage, mid-century industrial style, attributed to french designer jacques hitier. Manufactured by tubauto in the 1950s and 1960s, they date from the "reconstruction period", after the second world war, and were generally found in boarding schools or military barracks. These nightstands have a timeless, classic, simple but elegant, industrial and modern metal design, with tubular frames, lower shelves, light wood tops in golden oak color and fully functional drawers with some marks, signs of age. And previous use commensurate with time, inside and on the upper right interior edge of a drawer (see photos.) under each drawer is an inventory number (see photos.) these pieces have been restored to no later than close to their original state. The metal structures, shelves and feet, have been redone with a “military gray” color finish. The wooden tops have been remade, oiled and waxed with natural beeswax. Minor marks, signs of age and previous use commensurate with time, as well as a patina of time, on the tops and legs (see several photos.) some very small old woodworm marks, all fully treated ( see photos.). All leg caps are original, and are present (except one which has been replaced) and show previous signs of age and use commensurate with time, as would be expected for pieces of this age (see photos.) dimensions of each drawer: h: 5.5 cm X l: 26 cm X d: 29 cm.
