An old covered pitcher or broc in english porcelain, with a black background and polychrome floral decoration. Tin lid. Marked below s j.b. (for johnson brothers) and numbered 202112. Period: early twentieth century. Dimensions: height 16 cm, diameter 8.5 cm, width 14 cm. Good condition. Johnson brothers, an english earthenware factory, was founded in 1883 by the 4 johnson brothers in stoke on trent in staffordshire. It was one of the most successful staffordshire factories that produced tableware, widely exported to the united states, from the 1890s to the 1960s.
