3223 – night light or old ceiling light muller frères lunéville in molded pressed glass with peacock decoration signed “muller fres. Lunéville”, this light fixture which could be a ceiling light formerly transformed into a night light in good condition. No major cracks and chips. Neck with minor chips from use but not visible when on the circular aluminum frame. Electrical cord, switch and socket in good condition and functional. Socket for type b 22 bulb not supplied for safety reasons. Height 170mm X 150mm. Weight 730 g. Careful and tracked shipping. For information, the 9 muller brothers and one sister, founders of the muller frères glassworks in lunéville, are french art glassmakers from the art nouveau and art deco periods. The older brothers trained in glasswork at the saint louis crystal factory and at the meisenthal glassworks with désiré christian and worked with émile gallé as clerks or glass engravers-decorators. The elder henri left in 1897 and joined forces with the croismare glassworks to produce glassworks in direct competition with those of gallé and daum, who bought it after their bankruptcy in 1933.
