Chest armchair all in solid wood

Pretty armchair with salt box, all in solid wood, fully doweled oak and chestnut. The backrest is carved with a diamond. The solid wood armrests are doweled. The seat hides a chest. Under 2 removable boards, diamond decorations, louis XIII style. In the past, this type of armchair, called the "grandfather's throne" or "cantou", was placed inside the fireplace in order to dry the salt hidden in the chest. This place was reserved for the patriarch of the household. In excellent condition, fully treated, cleaned and waxed. Seat height; 47 cm.
