Pair of Brongniart children's busts in biscuits

Pair of brongniart children's busts in porcelain biscuits on a blue porcelain base and gold fillets. Small curiosity, they are signed made in japan. In a perfect state. The busts represent louise & alexandre brongniart, children of the french architect alexandre-théodore brongniart, famous for the construction of the paris stock exchange (palais brongniart). Louise and her brother alexandre, were popular, often reproduced subjects in 19th and 20th century art. These are reproductions of the original sculptures by jean-antoine houdon (1741-1828). Dimensions of each bust: height 14 cm length 9 cm width 6 cm.
