Pair Chinese Vintage 1970's Medicine Hardwood Apothecary Chest Drawers Cabinets

Fine pair chinese vintage 20th century medicine hardwood apothecary haberdashery chest cabinets with -20 drawers on each with double door lower cupboard sections. Featuring brass bounded corners & fixtures. With brass pull handles. Standing on stylish small bracket feet. Made from hardwood, heavy quality around 40kg in weight each. Provenance originally bought from out of harvey nicols famous department store in the 1970's, with original order label attached. Each chest has 4 top rows of 3 smaller sized drawers, with 3 rows of 2 medium sized drawers in the middle section, then 2 rows of 1 largest sized drawers in the lower section, with a large cupboard area on the bottom section on each. 20 drawers in total on each chest, 40 drawers in total all together combined. A feature that you will especially love is that on each drawer it has the hand carved chinese character decorations on each, which is for the name of each different medicinal or herb to go in each drawer. So practical & beautiful. Superb for you to display and use in your haberdashery business or home interior living room area. The drawers are all extra deep 36cm interior depth of each drawer. They are a very attractive size being 124cm high each & 55.75cm wide each. Very rare and highly sought after. Hand crafted. Circa late 20th century 1970's. Condition report. Offered in overall fine used worn condition. Having various charming patina noticeable wear, tear, scratches, stains, warping, distressed fading to the wood, minor chips in places, some drawers are stiff to open commensurate with usage & age.
