Description
Watercolor on paper by Alain Lepreux signed and dated September 1927. Painted with an assertive and nervous gesture, with a reduced palette essentially declining the ochre nuances of tiles, stones, earth in rows of vines streaked with dark green like cypresses, the village of Vendres, in Aude, is seized with a confounding truth, in such a distant autumn day. The well-known post-Impressionist painter Albert Lepreux (1868-1959) exhibited in 1909 at the Salon des Indépendants alongside Monet, Sisley and Pissarro. Frame Dimensions 45.5 x 35 - watercolour 31 x 20.5 - P2
