Description
The desk is part of the arco series designed by bbpr, it is actually a dattilo desk, slightly lower than a normal desk because it was used with typewriters. The top is made of resin-coated and moulded wood sheets, the frame is made of enamelled metal and the drawers of moulded plastic. The furniture created by the avant-garde vision of the office by the bbpr studio and adriano olivetti in the 1960s are objects that still impress with their original and elegant design, perfectly at home in our homes. The bbpr studio consisted of architects banfi, belgiojoso, peressuti, rogers, and was one of the first collective studios, and one of the most interesting artistic and cultural associations based on teamwork and not on the personality of the individual. Despite the tragic experiences of the war, the studio re-founded itself after the war and began a technological and linguistic revolution in architecture and design. In design, their projects for arflex and for olivetti synthesis are characterised by a clean design, in which each material highlights its own dignity and is used for its technical characteristics, never renouncing a very high, essential and innovative aesthetic. The desk is in good condition apart from a break in one of the drawers, one of the feet and some slight marks on the top.
