Set of 4 chairs "reconstruction" of the 1940s/1950s by rené gabriel. These chairs are part of a piece of furniture designed by the french designer just after the second world war in order to quickly furnish the population with quality furniture. These chairs, tables, buffet, wardrobe are now called disaster furniture. They are all stamped vibo vesoul which is a former furniture manufacturer known for having worked with designers (audoux - minet) in the 1950s. The chairs are in very good condition for their 70th birthday. They are very solid and in good condition because stored for very long years in an attic. They were partially sanded by the previous owner but this being disharmonious, they were sanded entirely and then protected by an oil that leaves the wood raw, enhances the veining of the wood and protects them from stains. The wood does not look new and keeps a pretty old patina. It is not common to find these chairs in this state, you only have to skate them! Traces of xylophages are noteworthy but the chairs have been treated in depth with xylophene. One chair has nails and an old restoration screw, another has the bar of the cracked folder. This is just aesthetic because everything remains solid. See photos. 81cm high for the back. 44cm high for the seat. 38cm X 40cm for seating. A rené gabriel table of a similar color is for sale in my other objects.
