Baumann tacoma model: series of 20 western chairs made of nordic inspiration in thermoformed wood around 1960, robust, stable and comfortable with wide curved seat backs. Manufacturer: the french manufacturer baumann (based in colombier-fontaine, doubs, france) was the specialist in bentwood furniture, a technique consisting of bending the wood after steaming rather than cutting it. The brand's slogan was "baumann, the chair of france". Created in 1901 by emile baumann, it is the most emblematic chair brand of its time. The factory closed its doors for good in december 2003. Like the thonet, kohn, fischel and mundus factories, the baumann brand is a label of quality and is witness to an era rich in inventiveness. Today, the few baumann chairs still in circulation have entered the world of collectors: they represent french inspiration and know-how. Structure: varnished beech wood.
